Summary
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Glasgow in my final year of a Computer Science degree. I have a passion for technology, design, open-source software, and programming.
I am currently looking for full time employment, starting from June 2012, in a fast paced environment with challenging problems, exciting projects and the opportunity to learn new technologies and skills.

Experience
Internship, The Appstillery
June – September 2011
I spent 3 months as in intern working to create a mobile application called Recipics. I used Titanium Appcelerator and the Android Development Toolkit to create iOS and Android versions of the app, which was featured on the front page of the Apple App Store and in the Guardian newspaper’s “Apps rush” section.

July – September 2010
I spent 7 weeks in Computer Science department aggregating data and creating an interactive map of the Antonine Wall. This involved quickly learning the Google Maps API to create a map which could handle hundreds of items in an efficient manner.

I spent 6 weeks in the Physics department with the task of designing and writing a set of exercises and tutorials for Linux half of the C Programming Under Linux course. This was a huge undertaking for a single person and forced me to motivate myself while writing technical documentation in an easy to understand manner.
Young Enterprise Scotland
August 2007 – July 2008
I was elected as the I.T. Director for Camorra, a Young Enterprise Scotland company at Dumfries High School. I was chosen as one of the key contributors to the company and, after winning the regional finals, went on to represent the company at the Scottish finals.
Volunteer Work
We Will Rock You
December 2007 – July 2008
I created and managed the on screen visual effects for a school production of the hit west-end musical “We Will Rock You”. I was given full creative freedom for all aspects of the visuals, and helped to make the show a fantastic success.
Langlands School
October – December 2010
I volunteered to help at Langlands School for children with special needs. I went weekly over a period of 3 months as part of a team to assisted with the children’s music lessons. I also helped to organise and participated in the school’s annual Christmas show (despite my terrible signing voice). It remains one of the most difficult and rewarding things I have ever done.
