I am a second year PhD student in the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, supervised by Joemon Jose. I am a member of the Information Retrieval group, where my main focus is on detecting and summarizing event using social media.
I’m also an amateur photographer, and probably spent more time than I should lusting over lenses. Some of my favourite photographs can be found on my flickr account.
- Domain mystery solved, apparently .io domains are anal about sexual references and don't allow "analytics" (see what I did there?)
- Tried to order a domain, broke namecheap, and now the domain is in magic limbo "reserved" but not owned land. Yay...
- I can't help but wonder why anyone, let alone a middle aged man, thinks playing music from phone speakers is appropriate on a 7am train
- After feeling sleepy most of the day, it's 11pm, time for bed, and I'm wide awake. I swear my body works on some sort of alternative clock.
