I am a second year PhD student in the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, supervised by Joemon Jose. I am a member of the Information Retrieval group, where my main focus is on detecting and summarizing event using social media.
I’m also an amateur photographer, and probably spent more time than I should lusting over lenses. Some of my favourite photographs can be found on my flickr account.
- A work in progress: machines as a journalists, and Twitter as the only source: mir.dcs.gla.ac.uk/EventDesk/inde…
- In all seriousness, we paid £20 million for a system which we'd fail our first year students for developing.
- The most miserable thing I ever have to do it try and register for training courses using Glasgow Uni's "MyCampus".
- Today may actually be the day that I finally get over this cold.
